In a nod to our Midwestern roots, Saturday found us in Delores Park for the 2nd Annual NorCal Grilled Cheese Invitational.
When we got there we found a large, rowdy crowd of grilled cheese enthusiasts. Too large, in fact, for us to participate as judges and tasters. Instead, we took in the spectacle and Kimberly vowed that next year she would not only compete, she would win. I imagine a marching band was playing "On Wisconsin" in her head as she said it.
The spectacle wasn't enough to keep us there, so we met up with some friends and headed to a place called Monk's Kettle for a few beers and delicious mac n' cheese. Although we would be denied sandwiches on this cloudy day, nothing could keep us from the cheese.
