Thanksgiving 2009: only four weeks to go before we expect to meet Baby Senn for the first time, so getting on a plane and traveling to the Midwest seemed like a bad idea. But getting in a car and traveling an hour to Napa, that seemed like a great idea. So rather than cooking a turkey for two, we cashed in a gift certificate from our wedding and went to Rancho Caymus, an inn in Rutherford, California. (Thanks Bremhorsts, Beers, and Figueroas).
We wished we could have been with our families, but this was a close second. It was a perfect two days of fall colors, fall weather, and lots of great food. (Though, despite being in Napa, not a whole lot of wine.)

Thanksgiving dinner at FARM at the Carneros Inn. Butternut squash soup. Turkey. Yams. Cranberries. Check, check, and check. It wasn't home-cooked, but it was pretty delicious.

It was a different sort of Thanksgiving, but a great one none-the-less, and it gave us a lot of time to think about everything we have to be thankful for this year. It's a long list, too long to list here, and keeps getting longer.
