Changes.

Historically, change for Marty and me has involved moving boxes and one-way plane tickets that take us thousands of miles from the place we called home at the time. When we made changes to our lives, we went big. In one year alone, we got engaged, moved countries, changed jobs and got married!

This time, the first half of 2010 has included a trifecta of change that doesn't involve moving boxes or one-way plane tickets. First, we became three when Hugo joined us just before the new year struck; then I made the decision to stay at home as a full-time Mom; and now Marty has made a career change by accepting a job at another ad agency in SF.

Now, this isn't just any old ad agency. Goodby, Silverstein & Partners has consistently been named one of the best agencies in the country, and at the end of 2009 it was named Agency of the Decade. And it just so happens to be right here in our current home of San Francisco. I get to brag a bit, since Marty would never brag about himself, but it's a great job, and a hard job to get. He's really good at what he does, and the folks over at GS&P are lucky to have him there. I call it a win-win for everyone - Marty gets to take a job at the best agency in the country, GS&P gets Marty, and our family gets to stay in SF. Big winners all around.

Change is good. And this time around, we realized that we didn't quite need too much of a good thing. Just enough to be really happy with what we're doing every day.
