We always look forward to our trips back to the Midwest. From seeing family to spending time on lakes and rivers and battling mosquitoes and humidity, nothing compares to going back to Minnesota and Wisconsin.
This time, our trip took place in two parts - first, a journey from Edina to Northern Wisconsin, spending a few days relaxing on the docks of a beautiful lake home. Excitement abounded as the Senn-Carvalho crew descended upon Cable, Wisconsin.
Marty also celebrated his birthday while we were at the cabin. Naturally, this involved a fishing boat powered by a local fishing guide. The Senn & Carvalho boys all went out with the guide and fished for the better part of the day, yet I believe the final fish count was just 6 (the guide caught 4 and Lucas caught 2)! Despite the meager catch, we fried up the fillets and enjoyed them for dinner that night.
Later that afternoon we "surprised" Marty with a cake and party, complete with a Star Wars theme, chosen by Lucas, of course.
It's not a birthday party without a piñata, right?
The rest of the trip didn't fail to deliver full-on lakefront fun.
