Escape to the Mountains

In an effort to flee anything work-related, Kimberly and I headed to Lake Tahoe on Saturday to do a little biking and a lot of relaxing. It's about a 3.5 hour drive from San Francisco, and we stayed at the Village at Squaw Valley, on the northwest corner of the lake.
Kimberly, getting acquainted. The Village at Squaw is its own little community, with restaurants and bars and coffee shops.
On Saturday night we headed to dinner in Tahoe City, right on the lake. Here, we're standing in California, but looking east towards the Nevada side of the lake.
Safety first. Fashion last. On Sunday we donned our helmets and rode a gorgeous path that snaked along a river, down to the lake.
Afterwards, we rewarded ourselves with a lunch on the river before getting back on the road.
Even if we never ride our bikes again, I sure like how they look on the car.
On the way home we stopped off at Emerald Bay on the south side of Lake Tahoe - at the appropriately named Inspiration Point. It was a very short get-away, but nice to get a little fresh air and exercise before heading into what looks to be a long week.
