It's been a while since our last blog post, but rest assured we're still alive. We've both been working too much lately, but trying to make the most of our weekends in between. A few weeks ago we headed to the Almeida Flea Market (at Kimberly's urging). It's across the bay near Oakland on an old military airstrip, and likely the mother of all flea markets anywhere, ever.

The flea market is right in the middle of Oakland Bay, an active port with all the things that go with it. Rumor is that George Lucas found inspiration for Star Wars by driving past the port everyday on his way to work.

In a genius move, Kimberly decided to find some furniture for our roof deck (not at the flea market, but on the Internets). Perfect timing, too. October is the warm month around here. And this one hasn't disappointed.

The roof deck at night. Even nicer (but usually not so warm). That's City Hall in the background. It's an oddly shaped space, but a good place to spend an Indian Summer.
