Technically, Hugo's already 9 weeks old, but we just got home from our 2 month well baby exam and he performed like a champ despite the multiple vaccinations he had to receive both orally and by shot.
He started out at 7 pounds 3 ounces and 20 inches long, and here are the new stats at 9 weeks:
WEIGHT: 12 pounds 6 ounces (75th percentile)
HEIGHT: 23 inches (50th percentile)
HEAD: Circumference is 75th percentile
AWESOMENESS: 100th percentile
Development is right on track. He's interacting with people by following them with his eyes, smiling in response to stimulation and spontaneously, giggling at my jokes, playing with the toy bar on his Baby Bjorn chair, chatting away with his coos and noises that sound like words and generally just being cute. Other Moms that I see throughout the week are always charmed by his smiles and amazed at how reactive and expressive he is at such a young age. It seems he's working on pulling through his "fussy" phase - I wouldn't say we're out of the woods yet - and doing his best to communicate his needs with us.
He isn't a big fan of tummy time, so we do our best to make it happen for as long as possible a few times each day to ensure that he's gaining the muscular strength he needs. His neck strength is improving and he's able to keep his head up for a short amount of time when we're holding him upright. It's still a bit wobbly, but we're getting there!
Hugo's daily routine is being established and we're doing our best to help him help himself get to sleep at night. He typically has one good long stretch (4-6 hours) of sleep after "bedtime" at night, which happens sometime between 7 and 8 pm. He's still eating around every 3 hours throughout the night and day after that stretch.

Hugo and I spend a lot of time together during the week and I'm really enjoying all my Mom friends, groups and activities. Not only do they get me out of the house for socialization, exercise and fresh air, they help Hugo relate to other parents and babies his own age. I'm not sure if that's something important at this stage in a baby's development, but I'm sure at some point it will be!
We are able to go to first run movies at special showings at theaters around SF, take daily long walks, weekly strolls with other Moms in Golden Gate Park, and we even managed to hit up the de Young Museum last week for a bit of art and culture. We usually have lunch plans with my girlfriends on Fridays and next week we're going to start going to a Baby Yoga & Massage class with a few friends from my Moms group. We keep a very busy social calendar (for my own sanity!).
A parting shot of our favorite naked baby:
