I bet 2010 will be written about in history books as the fastest year in the history of the world. It seems as though the Earth rotated just a bit faster, it revolved around the Sun at an unprecedented pace and we all just sat back and watched it happen. Or is it just that the first year of having a child just SEEMS like it goes by way too fast? Either way, it's hard to believe that we've been hanging out with Hugo for more than 11 months, and that his first birthday is fast approaching.
We haven't updated much between the 10 month post and this one, but man, have we been busy. Between exciting home improvements, hosting Thanksgiving, attending a few first birthday parties for friends, getting up to speed on our condo association business and just keeping up with normal day to day stuff, we've had our hands full.
Hugo is insane. He's a complete monkey. He's always been a bit nuts, but it's really starting to come out with age. The energy this kid has is incredible, he simply doesn't tire.

Static electricity from the slide.
He climbs all over the place, especially at the playground. Getting himself up a few stairs, crawling up the jungle gym then hurling himself head first down the slide. He's a maniac and could repeat this for hours.

Hugo took me out for lunch a couple weeks ago. We dined al fresco.
We've also had some exciting developments on the walking front this past month. Hugo has been pulling up on furniture for a little while now, but he continues to get stronger and more stable with this skill. He cruises around now, moving from one piece of furniture to another and bouncing up and down constantly. He's quite the little dancer. He also figured out how to push his little walker toy - one day I watched him eye it up a bit and then just stood up and went, pushing forward in jerky little motions. He's getting better with this every day and just the other day walked with his push toy from one end of our long hallway to the other!

BB, Papa and Hugo went for a walk in the Presidio on Thanksgiving.

Cranberries are delicious. And they make an AMAZING hair gel. Just ask this guy.
Expect a few home-related updates soon too. We've finished painting Hugo's walls and ceiling, hung up his paintings and have just a couple of finishing touches to make his room complete. It's a really fun room for him. We also have been working on our "den" lately. Before and after photos coming soon on all of our projects, including a small amount of holiday decorating just to get us in the mood for our trip to the Midwest for Christmas.
