It’s still early, but we’ve started off our Sunday in the most expected way. Without hesitation, we both knew that the first order of business is to meander along Octavia Boulevard through the fog to La Boulange on Hayes. San Francisco is an early to bed and late to rise city, so at 9:15, we’re the first in line at the pastry counter, watching only young families and older Hayes Valley residents sipping their lattes at the big wooden tables throughout the cafe. We order our usual (Marty a regular latte with a pecan sticky bun, and me with the soy double latte) and find a little corner table to enjoy them. Knowing that it’s not a proper Sunday without the New York Times, we stop to pick up the last one on the newsstand and head home for a couple hours of relaxing with the paper. Now we’ve got the rest of the day ahead of us without any plans in place! Hopefully the fog burns off soon and we'll have a nice sunny day ahead of us.
