Up North

On Sunday afternoon we decided to take a last-minute road trip up to Napa Valley. It's only about an hour and 10 minutes north, and about 20 degrees warmer than San Francisco. Couldn't have been a nicer day.
Most people stop for wine. We stop for signs.
A late lunch on a lazy Sunday.
A restaurant in St. Helena, a town right in the middle of the Napa's vineyards.
Every once in a while we like to prove that we do, in fact, travel together.
Since Kimberly is something of a geothermal hobbyist, we stopped off in Calistoga at The Old Faithful Geyser of California. (Not to be confused with THE Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone, though all the road signs seemed designed to do just that.) It was actually pretty impressive, and looked exactly like the picture on the sign.
Before heading back to San Francisco, we stopped off at a roadside brewery for a couple of pulled pork sandwiches. Even though we were never farther than 2 hours from home, that half-day sure felt like a mini-vacation.
